Frequently asked.
What is Skript Rooms?
Writers' room software for developing television series and films. Story development, writers' room sessions, story boards, season planning, calendars, draft management and project history in one online workspace.
What is a writers' room?
A place where writers and creative leads develop a story together: they pitch ideas, break stories, develop characters and storylines, plan episodes and work through drafts. Skript Rooms is a digital version of that workflow, for teams in person, remote or hybrid.
Is Skript Rooms screenwriting software?
It is broader than a screenwriting application. Its main purpose is the writers' room and the story development around a project. Scripts and drafts are part of the room, along with the ideas, beats, characters, storylines, sessions, decisions, schedules and history around them.
Can I use Skript Rooms for a TV series?
Yes. A series room has a Board for story development and a Season page where episodes and storylines are developed together.
Can I use Skript Rooms for a film?
Yes. For a film, the Season page becomes a structure board for developing the story.
Can writers work remotely?
Yes. Skript Rooms runs in a browser, for writers in the same room, remote or hybrid.
Does Skript Rooms include video calls?
Yes. Video sessions run inside the room, alongside the agenda, live notes and decisions.
Can I manage screenplay drafts?
Yes. Drafts are registered by episode, stage and writer, with the script file attached. FDX, Fountain and Word scripts can be read inside the room, scene by scene; PDF files are stored with their version. A Final Draft file can be downloaded again with the room's notes and beats on its scenes.
Does Skript Rooms track who contributed?
Yes. The Ledger records cards, notes, decisions and drafts with the contributor and the date, so the project keeps a history of its development.
Does Skript Rooms replace Final Draft?
It is not positioned as a replacement for screenplay formatting software. It covers a different part of the work: the writers' room and story development.
